In The Silence

In the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness. Our life is a long and arduous quest for truth. –Mahatma Gandhi Silence to the mind is just as important as sleep is to the body. There are at least 3 stages of sleep. Stage 1, is that state of drowsiness. Stage 2, is where you are close to a state of relaxation, and stage 3, is where your body has totally relaxed and is now in rejuvenation mode. Silence can affect our bodies in the same fashion. Being in silence opens up the way for clarity and peace. My internal clock dings way before the crack of dawn and I love the early morning hours. This is where I find my clarity. I appreciate the world outside stopping, the chatter ceasing, and most of all, I appreciate being able to hear clearly what my soul has to say, and to hear clearly what my heavenly Father has to say. It is in the silence that I reign in my thoughts...

Our Help Comes From The Lord

Often times we work ourselves up over nothing. Anxiety creeps in and the next thing you know, everything you thought was important has magnified to a full blown hurricane. I know I am not alone. I have come to the realization that I am my own worst enemy and if not properly addressed, I will no doubt self-destruct by ushering in depression, stress, fatigue, heart palpitations, headaches, and more. The devil is a lie on that. In the past few months I have allowed myself to mentally self-destruct. Emotions on high alert. Patience is on an extended vacation, and lets not talk about tolerance for the mundane and pointless tasks. Yeah, I am not having it. Either it works or it doesn’t. Either you have a solution or miss me with the problem, especially if the problem has been talked about for what, a few years now. I am gone. I am being transparent in the fact that I am not one of the gossip girls, chatty Cathy types. You won’t find me entertaining too much or too many. My intro...

You Are Perfect

Humility is required to do what God has for you to do. Many will not understand your journey. Many will not support your journey. Many will not believe the journey. Don't sweat it., the devil probably thought he wouldn't get kicked out of heaven. Keep your focus on what God has for you to do. Listen to the still small voice. God used many people and they were not perfect, but they were perfect for His will. God is perfect and He will do a perfect work in you because you are perfect. Be Blessed

Drifting

On one of my walks a few weeks ago along the Ruston Way waterfront here in Tacoma, Washington I noticed a large amount of driftwood. The pictures that you see are a few that I took on that walk. I have never seen so much driftwood in this area, never. As I looked at each piece, it got me to thinking about the lives of so many. There were large, small, and odd looking pieces of wood tossed like a big wind had just came and blew them around and when that wind stopped, the wood landed. This driftwood reminded of me of how so many people are going about their lives as if they know exactly where they will land. Now, in most cases with determined steps we can control some things and that is only due to the choices we make or don't make. At the end of the day we do not have any real control, only God does.  He allows things to happen in our lives to get our attention. To warn us of impeding dangers that can cause us to land on life's seashores unable to move...
