I am always amazed that many misinturpret the word of God. This is due to a lack of knowledge and selfishness and an absolute failure to study and apply. When one gives their life to Christ fully, things must change. You are no longer the person you were before you accepted Christ in your life as your Lord and Savior. You can not continue down the paths with the same actions as of your past before Christ. Romans 12:2 KJV says it this way - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Does this mean we are perfect? No. What it means is that we actively make changes that represent Gods teaching and wisdom as He instructed. I heard it said, if God can't go, I am not going. If God won't do it, I am not doing it. Many want to claim Christ but live unholy lives making the choices to represent what God calls unholy. I am guilty of this in many ways and if your honest you would say so too. God wants your honesty, remember He is the all knowing, all seeing God. We can seek and have forgiveness when we humble ourselves to God and quiet our spirits and our lives and just lay at the feet of the Lord. Our guilt does not disqualify us it slows the process. Each day we are blessed to wake up, thats our chance to try again.
I seek daily to make changes in my character, my attitude, my way of living, my way of speaking and even my way of thinking. I can admit sometimes I have stinking thinking. Do I get it right all the time? No. Thats why we are given grace all due to God coming down to earth in the form of man to show and proove that which is good and acceptable. Are we condemed because we fail? No. God knew that we would thats why Jesus gave His life for us on the cross. Yes, He gave his life, it was not taken from him. Again lack of study for many who would say otherwise.
My ending thought is this, do you fully and willingly represent Christ in spirit and in truth? Are you seeking to be the light that we are as His children called to be? The word of God says, what is a man who gains the world to loose his soul. To be exact Matthew 16:26 KJV says it this way - For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Blessings and Lord Bless.
