I have worked for the non-profit humanitarian organization World Vision, Inc. for several years and I learn first-hand the many disasters that affect so many around the
world. I see up close and personal through media the effects of hunger, devastation and disaster. My heart goes out to the millions who are affected in so many ways, especially the children. We in the western world really do not know what it is like to be hungry or to
live in a land that has no clean water. We can never relate to walking miles just to dig for water, dirty and disease ridden water, and to carry that dirty water back to our homes to cook, clean, and bathe in. We can just go to our taps and turn it on and presto, clean water. Lack of water is the main
cause of death.
In John 4:13 Jesus talked about the benefit of water. Not the running water from our taps, wells, or streams, but eternal life-saving water.
Jesus replied, Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.
This water is eternally and spirituality life-saving. This water changes our lives in the spiritual. When Jesus sat at the well and talked with the Samaritan woman, she did not
know what type of water he was talking about. When he shared with her about this water she was amazed and asked how can she obtain the water. She was thinking that she would not have to come to the well and draw water. The Samaritan woman later learned about the water of life.
That is what God wants for us, to believe, and when we believe we have that life sustaining water. When we believe we know without a a doubt that
there is a Messiah. I encouraged you to seek this life changing water of Jesus Christ. He knows you. He cares for you. He loves you and his arms are waiting for you. There is nothing that you have done that is so bad that you cannot go to the Father.
I am so thankful that I know and have a Savior that is all knowing and all caring. I am thankful for the life-saving water that flows freely and sustains
my life and for that, I will forever be nourished by the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.
Be Blessed
Thanks for sharing this, Lynette. In this busy world, we seek everything else but the God we should be seeking and finding our happiness in Him.
